Economic potential of Małopolska
Małopolska is one of the economic leaders in Poland, generating 8.2% of the national GDP. The region is home to 1.5 million economically active people, and each year nearly 37,000 graduates emerge from Małopolska's universities ready to take up jobs in key sectors. Spending on research and development accounts for 2.51% of GDP, the highest in the country. The region is also in the lead in terms of the number of inventions reported and patents granted, confirming its position as an innovation leader.

The Business in Małopolska Center supports local and international companies, while programs such as #StartUP Małopolska, “Małopolska - here technology becomes business,” and World Entrepreneurship Week promote innovation and creativity in the region. Business owners and start-up founders can count on support from the region for the growth of their businesses and the implementation of their projects. 

“Yes” to new investments
The region offers attractive tax breaks and support through the Polish Investment Zone, which significantly reduces the cost of implementing new projects. Tools such as the Investment Offer Generator and spherical panoramas of selected investment areas make it easier for entrepreneurs to find the ideal location for investments.

Małopolska's step into the future
Małopolska actively supports innovative enterprises through projects such as the Małopolskie Centra Transferu Wiedzy SPIN, offering advice on digital transformation and the green economy. The region also undertakes initiatives in hydrogen and space technologies, including the Małopolskie Centrum Innowacyjnych Technologii Magazynowania i Transportu Wodoru. Membership in the Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies (NEREUS) allows Małopolska to participate in shaping European space policies, bringing benefits to the regional economy and its residents.
