Main Partner of the Krynica Forum 2023

Recently, Małopolska has been on everyone’s lips because of the European Games, friendly aid to Ukraine, related to the ongoing war on its land, and the prestigious mention granted for the first time ever by the European Entrepreneurial Region award.

 

The perfect organisation of the European Games was appreciated not only by the cheering fans but also by the continent’s best sportspeople, their crewmembers, and the representatives of the European Olympic Committees association. They have underscored that Małopolska has a vast potential and is ready to hold the largest global sporting events. The Games were also an opportunity to show the unity of Europe in terms of its stance on Russian Federation’s invasion in sovereign Ukraine.

Małopolska is the only European region out of 300 that can boast EER’s special mention, granted for the future-oriented vision of growth and endorsement of entrepreneurship. The award is a result of working towards co-operation with Ukrainian institutions of business environment, businesspeople, and backs Ukraine in its reconstruction and pro-European aspirations.

The region was recognised for the strong partnership and commitment of many institutions in actions serving to strengthen the business potential. The Regional Development Strategy ‘Małopolska 2030’ set out the directions of action, while seven smart specialisation domains ensure the continuous improvement of the innovativeness level..

For years, Małopolska has been encouraging active tourism by, e.g., constant development of its biking and skiing trail network and promotion of a healthy lifestyle. It is here that the biggest number of UNESCO World Heritage List objects, national parks and historical monuments is, with the region’s tourist offer being constantly broadened with new attractions and locations.

Yet, the biggest treasure of Małopolska is its residents, for whom the region sets up good conditions to tap their talents, get an education at the first-rate universities, hone their competences, pursue their passions and professional aspirations. Thanks to their commitment and potential, Małopolska is going from strength to strength, boldly merging tradition with modernity.
