Promotional campaign of Malopolska launched

as a European Entrepreneurial Region

It is successful, has a vision and stands out for its outstanding and innovative entrepreneurial strategy! Such is Małopolska according to the jury of the European Entrepreneurial Region competition, which includes representatives of the most important EU institutions, including the EU Committee of the Regions and the European Commission. Małopolska, as the only region in Europe, has been recognized by this jury as much as twice - first by obtaining the title of European Entrepreneurial Region, and then by receiving the only special award in the history of the competition, granted for 2024. That is why we have launched a campaign to promote Malopolska as a European Entrepreneurial Region!

There is no shortage of evidence that Małopolska is a business-friendly region. These include prestigious awards, high positions in independent international rankings, but also specific statistics showing investment attractiveness. Among them, the way our region was appreciated by the jury of the EU's European Entrepreneurial Region competition is unique. In July last year, Małopolska was honored by them with a special award! In doing so, it became the first region in Europe to receive the title of European Entrepreneurial Region (2016), as well as a special additional recognition granted by the competition jury (2024).

"Małopolska is the only region in the history of the competition to first receive the ERP title and then - a special recognition of this competition. That's why we are launching a campaign to promote Malopolska as a European Entrepreneurial Region. With the help of, among other things, billboards, colorful information on trains and buses, we will show that we are an innovative region, conducive to entrepreneurs, which gives business a chance to grow and flourish," says Małopolska Region Marshal Łukasz Smółka.

As part of the campaign, advertisements in English aimed at tourists and potential investors, mainly from outside the European Union, appeared at Balice airport. Our train in the colors of the campaign is already marching through the region. In Tarnów, Nowy Sącz and Oświęcim you can board public transport buses, which shimmer in navy blue and green colors from afar. In Krakow, since August, you can also get on such a streetcar.

The message will also reach those traveling around Poland on Pendolino trains owned by PKP Intercity. Throughout October, every passenger on the seat in front of them will see that the European Entrepreneurship Region is WE!

The campaign also has a virtual version. In the social media of Innovative Malopolska we prove that granting the region such a unique award was a good decision and Malopolska fully deserves this honor. Also in the pipeline are a spot, an information and promotional film and a series of short videos. We will also be in the press. You will already find information about the campaign in Airgate magazine published by our airport. You will also see the campaign on our publications and websites.

We encourage you to visit our social media: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and the Business in Malopolska website, where we have created a dedicated tab for the campaign.

Malopolska awarded for experience and commitment

As a reminder, the “European Entrepreneurial Region” (ERP) award is a project that identifies and awards up to 3 EU regions implementing an outstanding and innovative entrepreneurial strategy each year - regardless of their size, wealth or competence. The areas that present the most credible, forward-looking and promising plan are awarded the title of European Entrepreneurial Region for the following year. The ERP project was developed jointly with the European Commission with the support of EU-level entities such as SME United, Eurochambres, Social Economy Europe and EURADA.

The winners of the ERP 2024 awards were: Famalicão (Portugal), Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Italy) and South Moravia and Brno (Czech Republic), while an honorable mention was given to Malopolska Voivodeship.

Malopolska Voivodeship was recognized primarily for creating a friendly climate for the development of entrepreneurship, a strong regional partnership and the involvement of many institutions in activities aimed at strengthening the region's business and innovation potential. A major role was also played by its readiness to be a center of expertise and a cooperation partner for Ukrainian business environment institutions and entrepreneurs, including in supporting Ukraine in its reconstruction and European aspirations. Indeed, over the past few years, Małopolska has accumulated a huge package of knowledge and experience, including in the implementation of European funds, building an entrepreneurial ecosystem, and creating innovation strategies. Experts from Małopolska are eager to share this knowledge with Ukrainian institutions so that they can build their economic potential anew at the European level.
