Krynica Forum: A New Format, Leading Politicians

and Opinion Leaders in One Place!

This year's edition of the Krynica Forum will revolve around the key theme of security. Security should be understood broadly, as it has various consequences for business, local government, and society. [...] The topic of security is so important that it must transcend political divisions, and we are very pleased that we managed to convince guests, experts, and politicians to be strongly represented at the Krynica Forum. We are happy to see representatives from both the previous and the current government  emphasized Paweł Musiałek, Program Director of the Krynica Forum.

On August 30, 2024, a press conference preceding the Krynica Forum 2024 was held at the PAP Press Center. The meeting was attended by Łukasz Smółka, Marshal of the Małopolskie Voivodeship, Piotr Ryba, Mayor of Krynica-Zdrój, Celestyna Kusa-Gajur, President of the Krynica Forum, and Paweł Musiałek, Program Director of the Krynica Forum. The event is scheduled for September 18-20, and among the confirmed participants are: President of Poland Andrzej Duda, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Marshal Krzysztof Bosak, Minister Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, as well as MPs, senators, experts, and representatives from business and academia.

As the president of the Krynica Forum 2024, Celestyna Kusa-Gajur, explained, this year's edition features an innovative panel system. The discussions will not only be based on expert theses but will also be longer and involve a larger group of participants. The talks will focus on the challenges facing Central and Eastern Europe, Poland, and local governments. "We are focused on proven solutions. The conference's motto is 'Empowering the Region' – we want to talk about strengthening the region on a basic level – the place where we live, work daily, and develop business in Małopolska, as well as on the international level – Central and Eastern Europe as a key political and economic area," she added.

Paweł Musiałek, Program Director of the Krynica Forum 2024, announced that discussions will focus on four thematic tracks – security and resilience, development and business, local government and society, geopolitics and geoeconomics. He also emphasized the importance of discussions on the protection of the country. Security discussions will be held in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Krynica-Zdrój, the host of the Krynica Forum, is a spa town with a rich conference tradition, located in the heart of the Małopolskie Voivodeship. By creating a space for experts to discuss, Krynica-Zdrój has earned the title of "Davos of Małopolska." Małopolska, as the main partner of the event, plays a key role in its organization, highlighting its importance as one of the most dynamically developing regions in Poland. Łukasz Smółka, Marshal of the Małopolskie Voivodeship, highlighted the region's involvement in creating favorable conditions for economic growth and international cooperation. "Małopolska is open to entrepreneurs and foreign business partners. We are planning new economic activity zones – we are planning development. Considering the panelists, we are very pleased that the experts coming to Krynica will engage in wide-ranging discussions. [...] Małopolska is a very hospitable region, open to discussions on business and security," the Marshal pointed out.

During the three-day Krynica Forum 2024, more than 40 discussion panels will take place, featuring over 150 speakers. The conference is not only aimed at opinion leaders, decision-makers, and experts – thanks to an innovative reservation system, all citizens interested in public life can participate.
