MAŁOPOLSKA REGION

Main Partner of Krynica Forum 2024

Małopolska is a special region on the map of Poland. It is the host of the European Games, an indispensable partner in helping Ukraine with the ongoing war on its territory, and a two-time winner of the prestigious European Entrepreneurial Region award.

The excellent organisation of the European Games was praised not only by fans, but also by the continent's best athletes, members of their staffs and representatives of the Association of European Olympic Committees. They emphasised that Małopolska has enormous potential and is ready to host the world's biggest sporting events. The Games were also an opportunity to demonstrate European unity in the context of attitudes towards the Russian Federation's assault on independent Ukraine.

Małopolska is the only one of the 300 European regions to have been awarded yet another EKR award for its forward-looking vision of development and support for entrepreneurship. The award is the result of efforts to cooperate with Ukrainian business environment institutions, entrepreneurs and to support Ukraine in its reconstruction and European aspirations.

The region was recognised for its strong partnership and the involvement of many institutions in activities to strengthen business potential. The directions of activities are set out in the Region Development Strategy "Małopolska 2030", and constant growth in the region's level of innovation will be ensured by seven smart specialisations.

For years, Małopolska has focused on active tourism, e.g. through the constant expansion of the network of bicycle and ski routes and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. It is here that the largest number of UNESCO World Heritage sites, national parks and monuments can be found, and the region's tourist offer is constantly being expanded with new attractions and sites.

However, the greatest value of Małopolska is its residents, for whom the region provides good conditions for developing their talents, acquiring education at excellently prepared universities, improving their competencies, and realising their passions and professional aspirations. It is thanks to their involvement and potential that Małopolska is developing dynamically, boldly combining tradition with modernity.
